A woman with long, wavy blonde hair sits on a wooden chair covered with a pink blanket, smiling while looking at her wristwatch. She is wearing a black long-sleeve top, black pants, and beige socks. The setting appears to be a cozy indoor space with warm lighting, a mirror behind her, a zebra print pillow, a potted plant on a white side table, and a framed picture on the wall.

TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is precision-led, with a strong focus on technique and the mind-body connection. I use detailed cueing to help clients properly execute and feel the work as intended, so they get the most out of their practice.

It’s important to me that every client I work with feels supported, so my studio offers a positive environment where people from all walks of life can explore the Pilates method.

As a teacher, I ask questions, observe and make adjustments, working to the body in front of me. I also encourage clients to think about how the work feels as they move, and share feedback with me through the session. This helps clients deepen their connection to the practice and make stronger progress as a result.

WHO I WORK WITH

I work with clients from all walks of life, including total beginners, people dealing with chronic pain and injuries, and those who simply want to move and feel better.

I also teach fellow Pilates teachers who want to prioritise their personal practice, and sports people including footballers, runners, horse riders and boxers.

Every person is different. The beauty of private sessions is that they’re responsive, adaptable, working specifically to the individual’s goals, body and lifestyle.

BASI PILATES TRAINING

BASI Pilates is an internationally respected school that was founded in 1989 by Rael Isacowitz, with headquarters in California, USA. It is known for its rigorous, system-based methodology, developing teachers who work with precision and depth. The comprehensive training program involves over 500 hours of training and teaching, in addition to written papers and numerous exams.

A fully integrated system

A key distinction in comprehensive training is that the full Pilates method is taught as one integrated system from the outset.

Matwork and apparatus, including Reformer, Cadillac or Tower, Wunda Chair, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector, Ped-a-Pul, F2 System (in BASI’s case) and more, are studied together, with a focus on how movement patterns connect and progress across the system.

This differs from modular training schools, where apparatus is taught separately rather than as one cohesive whole.

The BASI Block System

I teach using the BASI Block System, which organises the Pilates repertoire into movement-based categories known as ‘blocks’. This creates a clear structure for building balanced, full-body sessions that work through all planes of motion, with a clear pathway for progression, while still allowing flexibility within that framework.

Exercises are selected and adapted in response to the individual, rather than followed in a fixed sequence. This means the teacher can respond to how your body presents on the day, while maintaining a sense of progression and continuity over time.

How this shapes your experience

For you as the client, this means experiencing Pilates as a system that is both structured and responsive, within a flexible, individualised setting.

Each session is shaped around how your body presents on the day, while still following a clear direction for progression. You’re not working through a set routine, but developing movement in a way that is specific to you. Over time, this supports efficient movement, greater control, and a deeper understanding of your body that carries into everyday life.
